Solomon, an
incredibly wise and successful Man gave the following truth for success in
life: “One man gives freely, yet gains even
more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will
prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” (Prov. 11) The
truth is that those who are the unhappiest in life are usually the ones who
have never lived out this life changing principle. When we “refresh” others
whether it is the gift of time, a listening ear, financial help, a meal, or any
other need they may have at the moment, we not only please the heart of our
Lord, but as well our minds and hearts become liberated from the daily grind
and disappointments that can often come our way. I have found that when I
involve myself and witness others involving themselves someway - somehow in the
lives of others who are hurting and need rescue and restoration in their lives,
there is a supernatural blessing and manner of favor that comes from the Lord
because we are doing His kingdom business. Giving freely and generously as
Solomon has told us is a life God rewards both now in the present, and in the
future eternally. Why not ask God today to open your eyes and ears to that
person or that need that might just be a Divine opportunity for you personally to
find a new sense of freedom and refreshment all from our heavenly Father.
