John 19:30 (NIV) “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”
With these three words, “It is finished,” Jesus successfully fulfilled the plan of our redemption: He delivered us from sin, and He gave us the Hope of Salvation. Just picture Jesus on the cross as He looked down through the ages speaking directly to you and to me, “I came to fulfill the prophesies, to provide you with a blueprint of how to live a righteous life, to give you peace and love towards one another; and to give you eternal life with unrestricted access to the Father. And, now, all of this is yours!” Even more, through His death and resurrection, Christ gave us His Spirit – the Holy Spirit — to live in us. He will protect us and guide us. He will fight our battles and seal joy in our hearts. When Jesus said “It is finished,” He was securing our victory to overcome the world! This beautiful gift is available to all who believe (John 3:16).
Have a victorious day!
