Addiction

"The disease of addiction does not discriminate. It affects people from all walks of life; from Yale to jail; from Park Place to park bench and everywhere in between. Addicts are some of the most talented, gifted, intelligent, caring, and compassionate people I know. But unless we recover, the ends are always the same: jails, institutions, or death."

---So true. Such a sad way to end a life so full of giftedness. This is the reason we do Celebrate Recovery at GraceView. There are more than we realize who struggle with alcohol, drugs (including prescription medication), overeating, depression, financial bondages, and so much more. It could be someone who sits next to you in church, someone who works across the hall from you, someone in your family, an acquaintance, a spouse, or any other person who you rub shoulders with. These strongholds are no respecters of persons. These strongholds cross socio-economic lines. They appear everywhere from Hollywood to Nashville, to Washington, and even to the churches. But…There is freedom…There is Hope. If it is you or someone you know, point them to the hope of Christ before it’s too late.
